Because fuck them. Maybe I'm just biased toward conclusions instead of introductions because they leave the final lasting impact of a first impression, but holy god mother of Judas Iscariot is that a fantastic way to go out. A World Alone is a conclusion to an experience. Maybe listen to it again to let it sink in. Like, if I had a couple hours to introduce someone to Lorde, what better way than to say "here's her first release. I respect her so much for that, the way her first album is just so cohesive but also interacts with her first EP. I hope it still counts:Ī World Alone, on the other hand, is the absolute perfect way for someone to finish their introduction to Lorde. I don't have time to do a whole 'nother write up on why I think it should go to A World Alone, but this is what I posted in one of the earlier threads.
